Takhrij Hadith 903: "A man from among those…"

Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“
A man from among those before you died, and he had nothing of the Book of Allah, Mighty and Exalted, except Tabaraka (Surat al-Mulk). When he was laid in his grave, the angel came to him, whereupon the surah stood before him. The angel said to it: 'You are from the Book of Allah, and I dislike offending you. I have no power to harm or benefit you, him, or even myself. If you desire this for him, then go to the Lord, Blessed and Exalted, and intercede for him.' So it went to the Lord and said: 'My Lord, so-and-so chose me from among Your Book, learned me, and recited me. Will You burn him in the Fire and punish him while I am within him? If You are going to do that to him, then erase me from Your Book.' Allah said: 'I see that you are angry.' It replied: 'Indeed, I have every right to be angry.' He said: 'Go, for I have granted him to you and accepted your intercession on his behalf.' The surah then returned and rebuked the angel, who departed, downcast, having done nothing to him. Then it came and placed its mouth upon his mouth, saying: 'Welcome to this mouth that so often recited me. Welcome to this chest that so often preserved me. Welcome to these two feet that so often stood in prayer with me.' It then kept him company in his grave so that he would not feel lonely. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) related this, there remained neither young nor old, free nor slave, in Madinah except that they learned it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called it al-Munjiyah (the Deliverer)."
