Takhrij Hadith 909: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic,…"

Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, frequently mentions prayer in the Qur'an: {Those who are heedless of their prayer} [Qur'an 107:5], {Those who are constant in their prayer} [Qur'an 70:23], and {Those who [carefully] maintain their prayer } [Qur'an 70:34]." Ibn Mas‘ud replied: "It means observing it at its prescribed times." They said: "We had thought that referred only to abandoning it." He said: "That is disbelief."
