Takhrij Hadith 931: "I heard the Truth [Allah]…"
“
I heard the Truth [Allah] say on the Night of the Ascension: “O Muhammad, command your nation to honor three: the parent, the scholar, and the bearer of the Qur'an [the one who memorized it]. O Muhammad, warn them against angering or humiliating them, for My wrath becomes severe against whoever angers them. O Muhammad, the people of the Qur'an are My people; I have placed them among you in this world as an honor to its inhabitants, and were it not that the Qur'an is preserved in their hearts, the world and everyone on it would perish. O Muhammad, the bearer of the Qur'an will not be punished or held to account on the Day of Resurrection. O Muhammad, when a bearer of the Qur'an dies, My heavens, My earth, and My angels weep for him. O Muhammad, Indeed, Paradise longs for three: you, your two companions Abu Bakr and ‘Umar, and the bearer of the Qur'an.””
