Takhrij Hadith 958: "I asked the Prophet, peace…"
On the authority of ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud, who said:
“
I asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Which deed is most beloved to Allah?" He replied: "Performing the prayer at its prescribed time". I asked: "Then what?" He replied: "Then being dutiful to one's parents". I asked: "Then what?" He replied: "Striving in the cause of Allah". Ibn Mas‘ud said: "He told me these, and had I asked him for more, he would have told me more".”
