I will surely recognize a man who was stingy with what Allah made obligatory upon him, until when death comes to him he begins to scatter his wealth here and there.” Then Qatadah said: “Woe to you, O son of Adam—you were a stingy withholder, until when death came to you, you began dispersing your wealth and dividing it. O son of Adam, fear Allah!, fear Allah!, and do not combine two evils in your wealth: an evil during your life and an evil at your death. Look to your relatives who are in need and do not inherit, and bequeath to them from your wealth in a fair manner.
