Takhrij Hadith 1039: ""O Aisha, do you not…"

"O Aisha, do you not know that I have made a covenant with my Lord, which He will never break? I said 'O Allah, I am only a human being among Your servants, I make mistakes as they make mistakes, I get angry as they get angry, and I act out of ignorance as they act out of ignorance. I have taken a covenant with You that You will never break, whichever servant I insult, abuse, curse, harm, or show an ill-intention toward, O Allah, do not punish me for it. Instead, make it for him an expiation, a purification, a source of blessing, a mercy, and a means of drawing closer to You, by which You raise his status in this world and the Hereafter.
