Takhrij Hadith 1258: "Consult the jurists and the…"
On the authority of 'Ali, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, if we are faced with a matter concerning which there is no clear ruling—neither a command nor a prohibition—what do you instruct us to do?" He ﷺ said:
“
Consult the jurists and the devoted worshippers, and do not decide it based on the opinion of a select few.”
