Takhrij Hadith 1274: "Before the Hour, a black…"
'Uqbah ibn 'Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“
Before the Hour, a black cloud, like a shield, will appear from the west. It will continue to rise until it fills the sky. Then a caller will proclaim: 'O people!' People will turn to one another and ask: 'Did you hear that?' Some will say: 'Yes.' while others will be uncertain. Then the caller will proclaim a second time: 'O people!' The people will ask: 'Did you hear that?' They will reply: 'Yes.' Then he will proclaim: 'O people, the command of Allah has come, so do not seek to hasten it.' By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, two men will be spreading out a cloth, but they will never fold it up or complete its sale. A man will be plastering his water trough, but he will never water anything from it. Another man will be milking his she-camel, but he will never drink its milk. The people will be occupied with their affairs.”
