Takhrij Hadith 1427: "In the end of times,…"

In the end of times, there will be a tribulation in which people will be refined and extracted just as gold is extracted from the mine. So do not revile the people of al-Sham, but revile their wicked ones, for among them are the substitutes. Soon a cause from the sky will be sent against the people of al-Sham, scattering their unity to the extent that if foxes were to fight them, they would defeat them. At that time, one from my household (Ahl al-Bayt) will emerge with three banners—the one who exaggerates says they are fifteen thousand, and the one who minimizes says they are twelve thousand. Their watchword will be “Amit, Amit” [Die! Die!]. They will meet seven banners, under each of which is a man seeking power, and Allah will slay them all and restore to the Muslims their unity, their blessings, and their far and near ones.
