The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at the signs of hunger on the faces of his companions and said: “Receive glad tidings! A time will come when one of you will be served a bowl of tharid [bread soaked in broth] in the morning and another like it in the evening” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, will we be better at that time?” He replied: “No, rather you are better today than you will be then”.
