Takhrij Hadith 1594: "That Umm Sa‘d bint Sa‘d…"
It was narrated by Sa‘id ibn Abi Zayd al-Ansari :
“
That Umm Sa‘d bint Sa‘d ibn al-Rabi‘ used to say: I entered upon Umm Umarah (Nasibah bint Ka‘b, may Allah be pleased with her) and said to her: O aunt, tell me your story. She said: I went out at the beginning of the day to see what was happening among the people, and I had with me a waterskin containing water. I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was among his Companions, and victory and favorable fortune were with the Muslims. When the Muslims retreated, I made my way to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I began taking part in the fighting, defending him with the sword and shooting arrows with the bow, until wounds reached me. She said: I saw on her shoulder a deep wound with a hollow depth. I said: Who inflicted this upon you?. She said: Ibn Qami’ah - may Allah humiliate him. When the people turned away from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he came saying: Show me where Muhammad is; I will not succeed if he survives. So I stood in his way, together with Mus‘ab ibn Umayr and some of those who remained steadfast with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He struck me with this blow, but I also struck him several times in return. However, the enemy of Allah was wearing two coats of armor.”
