Takhrij Hadith 1628: "I asked the Messenger of…"
It was narrated from Abu Dharr, who said :
“
I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): What saves a servant from the Fire?. He said: Faith in Allah. I said: O Prophet of Allah, is there any deed along with faith?. He said: To give in charity from what Allah has entrusted to you, or from what Allah has provided for you. I said: O Prophet of Allah, what if he is poor and finds nothing to give in charity?. He said: He should enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. I said: What if he is unable to enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong?. He said: Then let him help the unskilled person. I said: O Messenger of Allah, what if he does not know how to do that?. He said: Then let him help one who has been wronged. I said: O Prophet of Allah, what if he is weak and unable to help one who has been wronged?. He said: Do you wish to leave your companion with no door of goodness at all?. Let him withhold his harm from people. I said: O Messenger of Allah, if he does that, will he enter Paradise?. He said: There is no believer who attains one of these qualities except that it will take him by the hand until it admits him into Paradise.”
