Takhrij Hadith 1756: "Islam will wear away just…"
It was narrated from Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“
Islam will wear away just as the embroidery of a garment wears away, until it will no longer be known what fasting, charity, or acts of worship are. The Book of Allah (the Quran) will be taken away in a single night, and not a single verse of it will remain on earth. Groups of people will remain—the elderly man and the elderly woman—saying: We found our forefathers upon these words: La ilaha illa Allah (There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah), so we say them. Silah ibn Zufar said to Hudhaifah: What benefit will La ilaha illa Allah be to them when they do not know what fasting, charity, or acts of worship are? Hudhaifah turned away from him. He repeated the question to him three times, and each time Hudhaifah turned away from him. Then, on the third time, he turned to him and said: O Silah, it will save them from the Fire.”
