The Prophet ﷺ sent ʿAttab ibn Asid to the people of Mecca, saying: “Convey to them from me four matters: two conditions in one sale are not permissible; nor a sale combined with a loan; nor the sale of what you do not possess; nor profiting from what you have not guaranteed”.
