Takhrij Hadith 1899: "‘Abdullah ibn Masʿud (may Allah…"
It is narrated from Shaqīq:
“
‘Abdullah ibn Masʿud (may Allah be pleased with him) ascended al-Ṣafa mountain, then took hold of his tongue and said: “O tongue, speak good and you will gain, and refrain from evil and you will remain safe, before you come to regret it.” Then he said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Most of the sins of the son of Adam are committed by his tongue.’””
