Takhrij Hadith 200: "“Gather your people for me”…"
A man from al-Ansar narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to ‘Umar:
“
“Gather your people for me” — meaning Quraysh. So he gathered them in the mosque. The narrator said: Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to them and said, “Is there anyone among you who is not one of you?” They replied: “No, except a sister’s son of ours, an ally, and a freed slave”. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Our sister’s son is one of us, our allies are one of us, and our freed slaves are one of us”. Then he commanded them to fear Allah and exhorted them, and then said: “Indeed, my close allies among you are the righteous”. Then he raised his hands and said: “O Allah, Quraysh are people of trustworthiness, so whoever wishes them harm or seeks misfortune for them, cast him into the Fire upon his face”.”
