Takhrij Hadith 2019: ""Woe to gold and silver!"…"
A man from among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“
"Woe to gold and silver!" He [the narrator] said: So I went along with 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "O Messenger of Allah, your saying 'Woe to gold and silver' — what then [should one take instead]?" He said: "A tongue that remembers [Allah], a heart that is grateful, and a wife who helps toward the Hereafter."”
