Takhrij Hadith 221: "A woman gestured from behind…"

A woman gestured from behind a curtain with her hand, holding a letter for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ closed his hand and said: “I do not know whether this is the hand of a man or the hand of a woman.” She said: “Rather, it is the hand of a woman.” He ﷺ said: “If you were a woman, you would have colored your nails. ,” meaning with henna.
