Hadith 242
Language:

Takhrij Hadith 242: "“One night, ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab…"

‘Abdullah ibn Buraydah al-Aslami said:

“
“One night, ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab was patrolling when he heard a woman saying: ‘Is there any way to get some wine so that I may drink it? Or is there any way to reach Nasr ibn Hajjaj?’. When morning came, ‘Umar asked about him and found that he was a man from Banu Sulaym. So he sent for him. When he came, he turned out to be one of the most handsome people in hair and one of the brightest in face. ‘Umar ordered him to cut his hair short, and he did so, but his forehead appeared and he became even more handsome. Then ‘Umar ordered him to wear a turban, and he did so, but he became even more handsome. So ‘Umar said: ‘No, by the One in whose Hand is my soul, you shall not live with me in the same land where I reside!’. Then ‘Umar gave him what would suffice him and sent him to Basra.
