Takhrij Hadith 330: "Among the signs of the…"

Among the signs of the nearness of the Hour are seventy-two characteristics. When you see that people have abandoned prayer, neglected trusts, consumed usury, deemed lying lawful, regarded bloodshed lightly, constructed lofty buildings, sold their religion for worldly gain, severed family ties; when weakness becomes judgment, falsehood becomes truth, and silk becomes common attire; when oppression becomes widespread, divorce becomes frequent, sudden death increases, the treacherous are trusted and the trustworthy are betrayed, the liar is believed and the truthful is disbelieved; when slander becomes widespread, rain falls out of season, children become a cause of grief, the vile abound and the noble diminish; when rulers are wicked, ministers are liars, trustees are dishonest, officials are unjust, and reciters of the Qur’an are corrupt; when they wear sheep's skins while their hearts are more foul than carrion and more bitter than aloes; then Allah will overwhelm them with a trial in which they will wander in confusion as the oppressive Jews once wandered. The yellow (coins)—meaning gold dinars—will become prominent, and the white (coins)—meaning silver dirhams—will be sought after. Rulers will act dishonestly, copies of the Qur’an will be adorned, mosques will be decorated, minarets will be made tall, hearts will be ruined, wine will be consumed, legal punishments will be neglected, and the slave-woman will give birth to her master. You will see the barefoot and unclothed become kings. Women will become partners with their husbands in trade. Men will imitate women and women will imitate men. People will swear by Allah without being asked to do so, testify without being called to testify, greet others only because of acquaintance, study religious knowledge for purposes other than religion, seek worldly gain through deeds meant for the Hereafter, treat public wealth as personal property, regard trust as profit and zakah as a burden. The leader of a people will be the most despicable among them. A man will be undutiful to his father, harsh toward his mother, kind to his friend, and obedient to his wife. The voices of the immoral will be raised in the mosques. Singing girls and musical instruments will be adopted. Wine will be drunk openly in the streets. Oppression will be considered a matter of pride. Judgments will be bought and sold. Police forces will become numerous. The Qur’an will be turned into melodies, animal skins will be arranged in rows, mosques will become passageways, and the latter part of this nation will curse its earlier generations. let them expect a red wind, earthquakes , transformation , and major signs.
