Takhrij Hadith 402: "She entered upon the Messenger…"

She entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I saw a disturbing dream last night.' He said: 'What was it?' She replied: 'It was terrible.' He said: 'What was it?' She said: 'I saw as though a piece of your body had been cut off and placed in my lap.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'You have seen something good. Fatimah will, if Allah wills, give birth to a boy, and he will be in your lap.' Fatimah then gave birth to al-Husayn, and he was in my lap just as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said. One day, I brought him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and placed him in his lap. Then I turned away for a moment, and when I looked back, the eyes of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were overflowing with tears. I said: 'O Prophet of Allah, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, what is the matter?' He replied: 'Jibril (peace be upon him) came to me and informed me that my nation will kill this son of mine. I said: 'This one?' He replied: 'Yes, and he brought me some red soil from the land where he will be slain’.
