Takhrij Hadith 425: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ…"

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to the people of as-Suffah while their voices were raised and they were laughing excessively, which angered him. He said: “You were not created for laughter”, and he rebuked them for that. Thereupon, Jibril (peace be upon him) came to him from Allah, Mighty and Sublime, and said: “Indeed, Allah commands you to make things easy and not difficult, and to give glad tidings and not drive people away”. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went back out to them, gave them glad tidings, brought them joy, and made them feel at ease.
