Takhrij Hadith 436: "The Prophet ﷺ divorced Hafsah,…"
On the authority of Qays ibn Zayd:
“
The Prophet ﷺ divorced Hafsah, the daughter of ‘Umar. Her two maternal uncles, Qudamah and Uthman, the sons of Maz’un, entered upon her, and she wept saying: “By Allah, he did not divorce me because he was tired of me”. Then the Prophet ﷺ came and said: “Jibril (peace be upon him) said to me: “Take Hafsah back, for she is a woman devoted to fasting and standing in night prayer, and she is your wife in Paradise”.”
