Takhrij Hadith 466: "I was with the Prophet…"
Ibn Mas'ud reported:
“
I was with the Prophet ﷺ on the night when the group of jinn came to him. A man from among the jinn came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ carrying a flaming torch. Jibril said: O Muhammad, shall I teach you words which, if you say them, will extinguish his flame and cause him to fall upon his face? Say: I seek refuge in the Noble Face of Allah and in the perfect words of Allah, which neither the righteous nor the wicked can surpass, from the evil of what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein, from the evil of what He has created and spread throughout the earth and what emerges from it, from the evil of the trials of the night and the day, and from the evil of the visitors of the night and the day, except a visitor who comes with good, O Most Merciful.”
