Takhrij Hadith 545: "One day, the Prophet ﷺ…"

One day, the Prophet ﷺ came out to us and called out three times, saying: “O people, do you know what the likeness of me and you is?” They said: “Allah and His Messenger know best”. He said: “The likeness of me and you is like a people who feared an enemy coming to attack them, so they sent out a man to lookout for them. While they were in that state, he sighted the enemy and turned back to warn them, but he feared that the enemy would reach him before he could warn his people. Thereupon, he began waving his garment, crying out three times: “O people! The enemy has come upon you!”.
