Takhrij Hadith 638: "Damrah ibn Jundub left his…"

Damrah ibn Jundub left his home as an emigrant. He said to his family: "Carry me and take me out of the land of the polytheists to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ". But he died on the way before reaching the Prophet ﷺ. Then the revelation came down: {Whoever leaves his home migrating for the sake of Allah and His Messenger, and death overtakes him…} until {...And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.} (An-Nisa:100)
