Takhrij Hadith 794: "When the Messenger of Allah…"

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him to Heraclius, and he returned, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave him a Coptic garment and said: "Make one half of it into a shirt, and give the other half to your wife so that she may use it as a veil". As he was leaving, the Prophet ﷺ said: "Tell her to wear something underneath it so that it does not reveal the shape [of her body]".
