Takhrij Hadith 812: "The dearest of ‘Ali's names…"

The dearest of ‘Ali's names to him was Abu Turab, and he would rejoice when he was called by it. The Prophet ﷺ gave him the name Abu Turab only after he had become upset with Fatimah one day. So he went out and lay down beside the wall of the mosque. The Prophet ﷺ came looking for him, and someone said: “There he is, lying beside the wall”. The Prophet ﷺ came to him and found that his back had become covered with dust. He began brushing the dust from his back and said: “Sit up, O Abu Turab”.
