Takhrij Hadith 824: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ…"

On the authority of Abu Buraydah, who said:

“
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on one of his military expeditions. When he returned, a black slave girl came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I had vowed that if Allah returned you safely, I would beat the tambourine before you and sing". The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: "If you made such a vow, then fulfill it; otherwise, do not". So she began beating the tambourine. Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it, then ‘Ali entered while she was beating it, then ‘Uthman entered while she was beating it. Then ‘Umar entered, whereupon she placed the tambourine beneath her and sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Satan is afraid of you, O ‘Umar. I was sitting while she was beating the tambourine, and Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it, then ‘Ali entered while she was beating it, then ‘Uthman entered while she was beating it. But when you entered, O ‘Umar, she put the tambourine aside".
