Takhrij Hadith 827: "Abu Jahl slapped Fatimah, the…"

Abu Jahl slapped Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She complained to her father, who said : “Go to Abu Sufyan”, so she went to him and informed him of what had happened. He then took her by the hand and went with her until he came to Abu Jahl, and said to her: “Slap him as he slapped you”, and she did so. She then came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. He raised his hands and said: “O Allah, do not let this deed of Abu Sufyan go unrewarded.”. Ibn ‘Abbas said: “I had no doubt that his embracing Islam was due to the supplication of the Prophet ﷺ”.
