Takhrij Hadith 862: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ…"
On the authority of Qatadah Al-Sadusi:
“
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at the door of the Kaʿbah and said: "There is no god worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner. He has fulfilled His promise, granted victory to His servant, and defeated the confederates alone. Truly, every claim of privilege, blood-revenge or every claim to wealth from the Days of Ignorance is placed beneath these two feet of mine, except the custodianship of the House and the provision of water to the pilgrims. Indeed, in the case of accidental killing resembling intentional killing—committed with a whip or a staff—the blood money is the aggravated compensation: one hundred camels, forty of which are pregnant. O people of Quraysh! Allah has removed from you the pride of the Days of Ignorance and its boasting about forefathers. All people are descended from Adam, and Adam was created from dust." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited: {O mankind! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.} (Qur'an 49:13) Then he ﷺ said: "O people of Quraysh! O people of Makkah! What do you think I am going to do with you?" They replied: "Only good. You are a noble brother and the son of a noble brother." He ﷺ then said: "Go, for you are free."”
