Takhrij Hadith 913: "Ibrahim, the son of the…"

“
Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, lay in the lap of his mother, Mariyah. He was sixteen months old, and death was hovering over him with its wings. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at him and said: “O Ibrahim, I have no power over what Allah has decreed for you”. Ibrahim passed away, the last of the Prophet's children. His compassionate father carried him, laid him beneath the earth, and said: “O Ibrahim, when the angels come to you, tell them: Allah is my Lord, the Messenger of Allah is my father, and Islam is my religion”. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then looked behind him and heard ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) sobbing with a heart broken by grief. He asked: “What makes you weep, O ‘Umar?” ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: “O Messenger of Allah, your son had not yet reached puberty, nor had the pen begun to record his deeds. He was not in need of prompting. So what will Ibn al-Khattab do, when he has reached puberty, the pen has begun to record his deeds, and he will not find someone to prompt him like you, O Messenger of Allah?” Then the answer descended from the Lord of the worlds, Glorious and Exalted is He, in response to ‘Umar's question: {Allah keeps firm those who believe with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And Allah sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allah does whatever He wills.} (Qur'an 14:27)
