Takhrij Hadith 946: "Righteousness toward one's parents increases…"
On the authority of Abu Hurayra, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“
Righteousness toward one's parents increases one's lifespan, supplication repels the Divine decree, lying diminishes sustenance, and Allah has decrees concerning His creation: an irrevocable decree and a conditional decree. The Prophets surpass the scholars by two degrees, and the scholars surpass the martyrs by one degree.”
