Takhrij Hadith 952: "A man insulted Ibn ‘Abbas,…"
On the authority of ‘Abdullah ibn Buraydah, who said:
“
A man insulted Ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah have mercy upon him, whereupon he said: "You insult me, yet I possess three qualities: Whenever I hear that one of the Muslim judges has ruled justly, I rejoice, even though I will never have a case brought before him. Whenever I hear that rain has fallen upon one of the lands of the Muslims, I rejoice, even though I own no grazing livestock there. And whenever I come across a verse from the Book of Allah, I wish that all people knew of it what I know".”
