Hadith 140
Language:

Takhrij Hadith 140: "“You have come to ask…"

On the authority of Wabisah ibn Ma’bad al-Asadi reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him :

“
“You have come to ask regarding righteousness and sin?” I replied: “Yes”. Then, he gathered his fingers and struck my chest with them, saying: “Consult your own soul; consult your heart, O Wabisah”—repeating it three times. “Righteousness is that in which the soul finds stillness and the heart finds peace; and sin is that which wavers in the soul and creates hesitation in the chest, even if people give you their legal opinions, and issue you their rulings”.
