Takhrij Hadith 1659: "The Messenger of Allah (peace…"
It was narrated from Abu Sa‘id Al-Khudri, who said :
“
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out on Eid Al-Adha or Eid Al-Fitr to the musalla (the open prayer place), and he passed by the women and said: O women, give in charity, for I was shown that you are the majority of the people of the Fire. They said: Why is that, O Messenger of Allah?. He said: You frequently curse, and you are ungrateful to the ‘ashir (the husband), and I have not seen anyone deficient in reason and religion more able to take away the mind of a firm and resolute man than one of you. They said: What is the deficiency in our religion and our reason, O Messenger of Allah?. He said: Is not the testimony of a woman like half the testimony of a man?. They said: Yes. He said: That is from the deficiency of her reason. Is it not that when she menstruates, she neither prays nor fasts?. They said: Yes. He said: That is from the deficiency of her religion.”
