Takhrij Hadith 1675: "Practice archery and horsemanship, but…"
It was narrated from Uqbah ibn Amir that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“
Practice archery and horsemanship, but practicing archery is dearer to me than horsemanship. Everything with which a man amuses himself is futile except shooting with his bow, training his horse, or playing with his wife, for these are among worthwhile pursuits. Whoever abandons archery after having learned it has shown ingratitude for what he learned.”
