Takhrij Hadith 211: "We went out with the…"
Abu Usayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
“
We went out with the Prophet ﷺ until we reached a walled garden called Ash-Shawt. We reached two walls and sat between them. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Sit here”, and he entered. The Jawnite woman had been brought and stayed in a house among the date palms in the home of Umaymah bint an-Nu‘man ibn Sharahil; her nurse was with her as a guardian. When the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her, he said: “Give yourself to me [in marriage]” She replied: “Does a queen give herself to an ordinary man?” He reached out his hand to touch her in order to calm her, but she said: “I seek refuge in Allah from you!” He said: “You have sought refuge with the One who grants refuge”. He then came out to us and said: “O Abu Usayd, give her two linen garments and take her back to her family.”
