Takhrij Hadith 644: "A man came to the…"

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, my master married me to his slave woman, but now he wants to separate us" . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then ascended the pulpit and said: "O people, why is it that one of you marries his slave to his slave woman, and then wishes to separate them? Indeed, the right to divorce belongs only to the one who has taken hold of the leg (i.e., the husband)" .
