Takhrij Hadith 882: "I asked the Messenger of…"
On the authority of Mu‘adh ibn Jabal, who said:
“
I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: "What is hoarding?" He ﷺ replied: "It is when a person is displeased upon hearing that prices have fallen, and rejoices upon hearing that they have risen. How evil is the hoarder! When Allah lowers prices, he grieves, and when He raises them, he rejoices".”
