Takhrij Hadith 898: "I prayed to Allah to…"
Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr used to say:
“
I prayed to Allah to bless me with a husband who would shower me with love and who would be devoted in worship to Him. So Allah granted me Talhah ibn ‘Ubaydillah, one of the ten who were given the glad tidings of Paradise. It is also reported by the early Muslim scholars (salaf) that she said: "Whenever he saw me, his face would light up with joy, and whenever he heard my voice, he would smile. If I cried, he would cry. He would not go to sleep until he had made sure I was warm in my bed. He never performed a prayer without supplicating for me before himself. Whenever I fell ill, he seemed to suffer more than I did, as though the illness had afflicted his own body. He would not be at ease until he had me sitting beside him. Whenever we ate together, he would place the first morsel into my mouth with his own hand. I was his pride and his honor, both in private and in public."”
